For those looking for an inside storm shelter in a garage, the GarageCube underground storm shelter is the perfect solution for a family that doesn’t want to displace valuable space that could be used for storage or other purposes.

This storm shelter mounts flush with your garage floor and with a 1/4 inch thick steel lid that’s so strong that you can even drive a vehicle over it.

We’ve heard from customers who have used their shelter as a mechanics pit for working on their vehicles or changing their oil. However you decide to use your GarageCube storm shelter, you’ll love the fact that it is full of extra features including removable stair treads, an over-sized lid, a powder-coated finish and locking bench seat.

We thought long and hard about this subject. We had no yard space to put one in. We had no home space to install one. We saw the devastation tornadoes can make and thought the above ground shelters are just another target for debris or become debris. We even looked at the shelter under the bed that hydraulically expands but it needs a battery to upkeep besides still being above ground.

We finally decided upon an in ground in the garage. You do not have to move the car because the door slides and there is plenty of room to climb down in. It does not flood because we are up on a hill compared to the street. It took a half day to install and it was very reasonable in cost.

Thanks for the great review Tanis. We hope you enjoy your shelter

I installed mine in my garage I park my jeep right on top of it and can still access shelter with no problem . So you can install whatever you want but for my money below ground is the way to go in closing I'd like to share what I saw in Joplin Mo. I stood in the middle of this town or should I say what wad left of it tuned 360 degrees it was flat swept pretty much all the homes down to the bare concrete foundation destroyed an entire hospital rendering it in/op I stood there and tears ran down my face I could not process what I was taking in the destruction was complete unbelievable people that were not able to get below ground were literally blown away and killed please please consider the below ground type .

Thanks for the great review, Jess! Enjoy your GarageCube
